Private & Semi Private:
How much and why
This is your opportunity to work closely with a trainer in-person (or virtually) on a weekly basis to understand your dog better and build effective communication with them. Our training foundation is based on building relationship, communication, trust,
rapport, and meeting your dog's genetic needs so that they thrive! Training a dog isn't easy, but it's also not magic.

Through consistent private and semi-private lessons let us be your coach to understanding what you need to create better outcomes wether that be on the street a competition field, or in your home.
And let us help you enjoy your dog more!

For all lesson formats we ask that you reserve one hour minimum for training. Lessons tend to last around
30-60min, while semi-private run longer due to the group setting.

Our private and semi-private programs
are $280-400 per week. In general we encourage clients to plan on committing to training for 2months at a time, depending on your goals. We see clients and dogs from a range of backgrounds and possessing varying skills and abilities--so program lengths vary widely.
A personal approach to Sport, Law Enforcement,
and Pet dogs
Understanding the dog in front of you and to train them fairly is always at the forefront of out mind at NK9. This is part of the reason we like semi-private lessons for nearly everyone at a certain point regardless of their goals: training in community helps build clarity and understanding for handlers--from obedience, to protection!
However, EXCEPTIONS ARE MADE FOR LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT: If you work with a police department and want help with obedience, need problem solving or a decoy, please message Angela to set up an appointment.
You will always receive personal attention and coaching at NK9. We believe this is invaluable; as is watching other handlers work dogs & asking questions in a small group setting. We strive to foster a supportive community of like-minded people, working toward establishing the best life
and performance possible for their canines.
Part of our job at NK9 is to accurately assess the capabilities of every dog & handler team and their training potential, and to make recommendations based on the suitability of each circumstance and the training needs at hand. We want what is best for you and your dog, and honesty is our standard.
Board & Train
Our boarding programs typically last 4-8 weeks, though sometimes shorter or longer depending on the circumstance. Not local? We have clients from all over the United States, so don't let location worry you! You will receive personal videos throughout every week of training, as well as 1:1 follow-up sessions designed to help you and your dog succeed.

NK9 believes in a reward and play-based training system, utilizing all four quadrants of learning theory: positive & negative reinforcement and positive & negative punishment. We prioritize relationship and building confidence in your dog, while having fun! But did you know there's a science to what helps dogs learn and how they build associations in training?
We are here to help demystify these things for both you and your dog.
We've done board & train programs for protection, advanced obedience, sport, dual purpose green dogs, basic obedience, and behavior modification for pet dogs.

Our B&T programs typically run
around $1000-$1300 per week.
Safety and
Health
All dogs must remain secure on a leash. No dogs are to be off leash unless directed to do so. Do not exit your vehicle or approach another human or dog, or allow your dog to approach another human or dog unless directed to do so (including your dog trainer). It is also required that all dogs arrive for weekly lessons inside a crate in your vehicle. These are safety precautions.
We do NOT accept dogs who are pregnant, sick, coughing, have diarrhea, loose stool, vomiting, or flees. ALL dogs and puppies must complete a stool check testing for parasites prior to training with NK9; in addition to repeat testing on a seasonal basis for long term clients.
